The Chinese supporters suffered with their hero Wang Hao, but the reigning World champion is not in the form to beat Timo Boll. At least, Wang tried his best, saved a match point in the fifth game, but eventually lost 3-11 in the sixth game.

Wang Hao said at the press conference: “I don’t feel good about this result. The key point was that I didn’t do well.”

Timo Boll for his part was happy to have beaten Wang Hao for the second time in a row. “I have improved a lot in service and service receive in the last years. This helps me to beat players like Wang Hao. Maybe Wang Hao is mentally a little bit tired but in a few months he’ll be on the same level again.”
